The Origins of Battlefield Live™

Battlefield Live™ is a new concept made possible through a technological break-through enabling extended range (500 feet/150 metres + in daylight) of infrared units. In 1998 electronics engineers worked out how to lens the I.R. so the beam could travel much further than previously managed by laser tag equipment. This new ability to hit opponents at range and in daylight enabled Battlefield Live™ to be born.

Our equipment uses a 57.6 kHz carrier frequency modulated with a 1.8 kHz signal.

Battlefield Live™ development has been influenced in playing style by paintball whereas the technology is an off-shoot of the indoor arenas. In many respects outdoor laser tag combines the best aspects of both indoor arena laser tag and paintball.

The base technology used by www.battlefieldsports.com is infra-red light. Infra-red is on the safe side of the visible spectrum.

Battlefield Live™ is a tactical game of team based combat, also known as "electronic" paintball.

It is war games for warriors!

Unlike the old style arena indoor laser games you might have heard of, we play outdoors. Each team is equipped with infrared weapons and sensor helmets. Players shoot an invisible and harmless infrared beam, similar to the ones used in your TV remote control.

With outdoor laser tag your customers can play stand-alone missions like “Capture the Flag” or more advanced missions like the Mobile Guerrilla Force of Vietnam, and the Special Air Service Regiment operatives and lots more.
Battlefield Live™ is a team oriented combat simulation that is played in a variety of different locations such as urban, forest, farmland or on purpose built battlefields.
